The honest answer
For most first-time visitors, Kenya is the better choice. It's cheaper, easier to access, and the Maasai Mara is the densest big-cat country in Africa. Tanzania is the better choice if you have more budget, more time, and want sheer scale (Serengeti) plus a unique experience (Ngorongoro Crater).
If you can do both, combined trips work brilliantly.

The combined option
